“Until the sun comes creepin’ through…” - Sketch of the Day

November 10th, 2011

Until the sun comes creepin throughI had been struggling with this idea over the past few days. I wanted Andrew Sisters type singers from the 40’s. I had major issues with the pose I wanted them to have among other problems. I don’t know if it was because I took a change of scenery this afternoon and spent a few hours at a Coffee Bean and read for a bit and sketched. But I was able to get the poses I wanted.

1940’s Cartoon Movie Star-Sketch of the day

November 4th, 2011

1940's Starlett 1 I have had an idea for an animated short that goes back to my college days. It is a Hollywood caper that involves a 1940’s cartoon movie star, a 1920’s silent cartoon movie star and a private eye. I’ve had some story problems, like how to end it. But every now and then the project resurfaces and the following concept art sketches came out last night. My dream is to see this idea on a big screen one day!

GabyGaby picYesterday I received the cutest letter in the mail by my beautiful niece Gaby (Elias’ baby girl). She asked if I had fun with “your Brother.” during his visit out to California a couple of weeks ago. She didn’t say “my Daddy” no “your brother” I thought that was cute. Anyway it turns out she likes to draw and write. She sent me this beautiful work of art so I decided to post it. Thank You Gaby!!!
